I am Dr. Mary Anne Peck and I am a ChromaGen provider in Carrollton, Texas. I was invited to participate in a pilot study in February here in Dallas and it was one of the best things I have ever done in the last 25 years of practice.
Some of these children had never been able to see words hold still. One little girl kept saying “I hated reading. I hated reading.” And I spoke to her afterwards and asked her “Well, how did you do?” And she said “I don’t think I can find the right words to say how this helped me.” And I was really, really interested because of the number of children we see that have visual difficulties, the number of children that are on medications, the number of children that come in and their parents are so frustrated that their one last hope is “Well, maybe it’s their eyes. Let’s get their eyes checked.”
And it’s…their vision could be perfect but they still don’t see things clearly and single. Their vision may be 20/20 but it’s a difficult, double, blurry 20/20 vision. And this is what that lens does. It’s an incredible product that helps kids see better.
I’ve been in touch with a couple of parents and they say that the kids go to bed at night wanting to read. They lay in bed reading. They’re no longer looking at the pictures. They are reading. They want to read out loud. How do you replace that?
