Corneal Topography Screening, Explained

Carrollton Eye Care Services
Corneal topography screening may sound like a pretty intimidating procedure, but it's actually a very simple process that's important for maintaining healthy eyes. But there are a few things you should know first before undergoing the procedure. Here are some common questions: Why are my corneas important? A cornea is the first place light touches as it hits the eye, and it is responsible for almost 70 percent of the eye's refractive power. It's made of transparent tissue, and, perhaps as equally important, it covers the eye's iris and pupil.  The Cornea is the area that a contact lens usually rests on. Instead, New Yorkers will “self-certify” that they can see what’s on the road when they renew their licenses, the agency’s commissioner, Barbara J. Fiala, said in a statement issued Monday. Carrollton Eye Care Services, Medical Awareness
These should be the golden years. Carrollton Eye Care Services
One of the tricky things about vision loss is that it doesn't usually happen quickly -- or even very noticeably. While a minority of vision loss cases (usually  stemming  from trauma or certain illnesses) are sudden and abrupt, most people experience a quiet erosion of eyesight over long periods of time. It's easy to miss. People tend to compensate for gradual eyesight loss while conducting everyday activities, such as driving at night, typing on a computer, reading a book or playing that weekly tennis game. So here's the problem: If people don't notice their eyesight loss, they're unlikely to seek out medical help to counter it. Many vision-loss conditions can be treated to either slow the eyesight deterioration or limit the pain and suffering that comes with it, and some…
